Free Leather Valet Tray Pattern (PDF)

This template will let you create a stylish leather valet tray, or “catchall,” with three different closure options to choose from. This tray is a great item to add to your lineup of leather goods or to give as an extremely useful everyday gift for keys, wallets, and small essentials.

The finished leather valet tray template provides roughly 8″ × 5.5″ of usable interior space, making it ideal for nightstands, desks, or entryway organization.

Usage Note: You are free to use this design to create and even sell the end product. However, you cannot re-distribute this template in any form.

Project Instructions

There is currently no video instructions for this template (in the works!).

Trace around the perimeter of the one piece template and mark the holes for attachment. If you would like a permanently closed tray you can use brass or copper rivets to quickly secure. If you would like the option to deconstruct your tray (i.e. a “travel tray”), you can use snap fasteners or button studs.

Leather Selection

 This template was designed for use with heavier weight leathers (i.e. 6 – 9 oz) but should work fine with lighter weights. We recommend a medium to medium firm temper in order to hold the shape over time.

We put a lot of time and effort into producing these templates, videos, and blog posts. Please do not distribute the template you have purchased from MAKESUPPLY. It’s not cool and hurts our feelings (CRY EMOJI). And we have eyes EVERYWHERE.
