Moore-Pearsall Leathers

Overview

Vegetable-tanned leather at Moore-Pearsall Leathers

Moore-Pearsall Leathers has a dedicated natural vegetable-tanned collection from tanneries in Italy, the United States, and England. You can compare several thicknesses and choose among double shoulders, sides, and butt or bend cuts for tooling, carving, dyeing, and other leatherwork.[1]

The company operates in Toronto and sells to both retail and wholesale customers. You can order through the public online store, by phone, or by email. If you are close enough to visit, the showroom also lets you browse and handpick hides. You do not need a wholesale account to shop the catalog.[4][7]

The natural Italian shoulder listing covers double, single, and quarter shoulders, plus 1- and 2-square-foot panels. Several thicknesses are available. The price shown for a hide is a placeholder: Moore-Pearsall measures the hide it selects and adjusts the charge to the actual area at the listed per-square-foot rate.[2]

For belts and strap work, the public listing includes vegetable-tanned straps in natural and several finished colors. You can choose from multiple widths and belt-weight thicknesses, and the listed straps are at least 48 inches long. These are precut products; the listing does not show that Moore-Pearsall will cut any hide to any width you request.[3]

You can add selected panels, shoulders, and individual straps directly to the online cart. Wholesale accounts and volume discounts are optional, and the terms depend on the article and quantity. The reviewed pages do not state a company-wide minimum, but check the live quantity, stock, and discount terms for the product you want.[2][3][4]

Service details

Showroom selection and special requests supplement the online catalog.

You can browse the Toronto showroom and handpick hides during its published weekday hours. If your pattern needs specific dimensions or usable areas, contact the company before ordering. The natural shape of a hide can make those details matter.[4]

Wholesale accounts may qualify for volume discounts based on the article and quantity. Moore-Pearsall does not publish one discount schedule for everything, so ask about the leather and quantity you plan to buy. Do not assume a public cart order will receive wholesale pricing automatically.[4][7]

The reviewed official material does not verify splitting or skiving as customer services. If you need a finished thickness outside the listed options, ask what preparation is available before you order. The company's historical finishing work does not establish that it offers those services on current customer orders.[1][4][7]

Order planning

Shipping and returns.

Direct United States orders

Moore-Pearsall accepts United States orders directly. Its shipping policy lists free shipping for qualifying orders in the contiguous United States, while other eligible orders get a shipping cost at checkout. US customers are still responsible for taxes, duties, and brokerage fees. The order crosses the border; it is not domestic US fulfillment.[5]

Other international destinations

For destinations outside Canada and the United States, shipping requires a custom quote. The customer is responsible for taxes, duties, and brokerage fees. Ask for a quote and confirm the destination before assuming an item can be delivered there.[5]

The policy says orders typically leave within two business days, but delivery times are estimates. Whole and half hides may also run into PO-box restrictions. If you have a deadline, need a particular carrier, are ordering an oversized hide, or use a PO box, contact the supplier before ordering.[5]

You can request a return within 30 days of receipt for most eligible leather, but leather that has been cut or otherwise altered cannot be returned. Standard returns carry a published restocking fee, and you pay the return shipping. Check the variant and inspect the leather before you cut it.[6]

Decision guide

When this supplier may be worth comparing.

Potentially useful if you need

  • Starting with 1- or 2-square-foot panels before committing to a quarter, single, or double shoulder.
  • Buying precut belt-weight straps in multiple widths and colors.

  • Buying directly from the Canadian distributor with documented United States shipping terms.

Confirm before ordering
