Everyone needs a bookmark!
This free leather bookmark template PDF includes a small set of simple, minimalist bookmark designs that are easy to make with basic leatherworking tools. The patterns work well with a variety of leather types and can be hand cut or laser cut, making them a quick DIY project for makers of any skill level.
This template set includes 4 different leather bookmark designs to choose from. Bookmarks are very beginner friendly and great items to make utilizing scrap leather. If you are using natural veg tan leather you can also add tooling, dye, and monogramming for customizations.

Project Instructions
Well, this is a pretty simple project so we don’t need any long drawn out instructions. First step, decide which style bookmark you would like to create and cut out that template (if using print PDF files). Trace the pattern on your leather and cut it out.
If you’re going to be adding a tassle at the top (as displayed in the photo examples), you should punch a 3-5mm hole using your leather hole punch of choice.
The pattern set doesnt include a template for the tassle but if you want to create one like in the examples, cut a long strip of around 2-3mm (1/8″) leather and tie it through the hole. Trim the excess to your desired length.
Leather Selection
In the photo examples we used 2-3oz natural veg tan leather. You can use a WIDE range of different leathers for this style bookmark but I do recommend using relatively thin leather (1.2mm or under). Thicker leather doesnt sit well inside of a folded book and can increase the likelihood it will damage the spine.
Guidelines of Template Usage
We put a lot of time and effort into producing these templates, videos, and blog posts. Please do not distribute the template you have purchased from MAKESUPPLY. It’s not cool and hurts our feelings (CRY EMOJI). And we have eyes EVERYWHERE.
However, you are free to do whatever you want with the end product you create using the template.
